Faraid Head

North of Balnakeil Beach the sand gives way to Faraid Head, a dune-backed headland with wide views west towards Cape Wrath. You reach it on foot from the beach, an out-and-back of a few kilometres over the dunes. The tip is used by the MoD as range control for the Cape Wrath bombing area, so keep to the marked ground and watch for any signs when the range is active.
