If you’re walking out to Sandwood Bay, the Kinlochbervie Hotel is the obvious stop — a remote hotel bar above the fishing harbour in Scotland’s far north-west, off the B801. Food, rooms and a fine view over the sea loch. There’s no railway for many miles up here, so it’s a long but lovely drive in.
