Dramatic tilted rock strata and remote sands.
Marloes Sands runs for about a mile below folded, tilted cliffs on the peninsula beyond Marloes village. The rock strata here stand almost on end, which is much of the draw, and the sand only opens fully at lower tides — check the times before committing to the walk down. It’s a field-and-cliff-path descent with no road to the beach. The boats for Skomer leave from Martin’s Haven, a short way round the headland.
