A sheltered mile of sand curves below the wooded headland of Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd at Llanbedrog, its back edge lined with a well-known row of brightly painted beach huts. Calm and shallow, it suits families and small boats. A path climbs the headland to the iron “Tin Man” sculpture looking out over the bay. Pwllheli station is about 6km up the coast.
