Roslin is a Midlothian village best known for Rosslyn Chapel, the extraordinarily carved 15th-century church on its edge. Below the village the wooded Roslin Glen drops to the River North Esk, past the ruins of Roslin Castle. It’s an open village and an easy day out from Edinburgh. Eskbank is the nearest station, around 6km to the north-east.
