Noss Mayo faces Newton Ferrers across a wooded creek of the Yealm, the two villages linked by the tidal crossing and a summer ferry. A well-known circular walk follows an old carriage drive around Warren Point and back along the estuary, with the waterside Ship Inn near the start. Quiet, and best reached on foot or by boat.
