A remote spot at the head of Loch Buie in southern Mull, reached by a single narrow road off the A849 - the only way in, so allow time. Near the shore stands the only stone circle on Mull, a Bronze Age ring, and the roofless 14th-century Moy Castle, once the seat of Clan Maclaine. Worth knowing: this is a working estate of a handful of houses, not a village with services. A walking track carries on west to Carsaig, about 6 miles off.
