Finished the Pennine Way? The Border Hotel at Kirk Yetholm is the official end of the 268-mile walk, and a fine place to raise a pint to it. This small Cheviot village was also the seat of Scotland’s “gypsy kings” — the last was crowned here in 1898, and the old Gypsy Palace cottage still stands. It’s twinned across the Bowmont Water with Town Yetholm.
