Looking for a base between Aviemore and Kingussie with water on the doorstep? Kincraig sits beside Loch Insh, where the outdoor centre hires out canoes and kayaks through the season. The Highland Wildlife Park is just up the road, and the RSPB’s Insh Marshes — a great wetland for waders and wintering swans — lie across the Spey. Aviemore station is about 8km to the north-east.
