Frodsham is a small town at the northern tip of the mid-Cheshire ridge, and it’s the hill behind that makes it worth a visit: a short climb up through woods to Mersey View, where the ground drops away to the estuary, the Manchester Ship Canal and the whole Cheshire plain. The Sandstone Trail starts (or finishes) here. The station is right in town, a few minutes from the foot of the hill.
