Brora is an east Sutherland coast village with a sandy beach and its own stop on the Far North Line. It’s best known for whisky: the Clynelish distillery stands just above the village, and the neighbouring Brora distillery — silent for decades — was revived in 2021. Golspie is a few miles south down the A9.
