The Naze
Local highlightApproximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
North of the town, the land at Walton ends in a low, crumbling headland of clay above the sea. The cliffs shed sharks’ teeth and other fossils as they erode, and the paths along the top give long views over the backwaters, with the old brick Naze Tower standing behind. Open access, though it pays to keep back from the edge. Walton-on-the-Naze station is a short walk away; Frinton-on-Sea is the next town down the coast.
