St Ives Bridge Chapel
Local highlightOne of only four surviving bridge chapels in England perches midway across the Great Ouse at St Ives, a little stone room built onto a 15th-century bridge in 1426. Travellers once stopped to pray or pay a toll; Cromwell later had the southern arches blown up during the Civil War. The bridge is there to walk across any time, though the chapel itself opens only occasionally. Huntingdon station is about 8km west.
