Box Hill is a steep chalk hill above Dorking on the North Downs, its Salomons Memorial terrace looking south over the Weald. It’s National Trust land with a café, easy grassland walks and the Mole gap below, and cyclists know it for the zigzag road climbed in the 2012 Olympic road race. Box Hill & Westhumble station sits at the foot, about 1km away.
