The Sloop Inn has stood by the little harbour at Porthgain since 1743, its walls hung with photographs and relics from the days when the quay shipped out slate and crushed stone. The great brick hoppers of the old works still loom over the harbour beside it. It’s a much-loved stop on this stretch of coast, with food served through the day.
