The Saracen’s Head sits on the east bank of the Wye at Symonds Yat, reached by its own hand-pulled cable ferry — the ferryman hauls the boat across on an overhead rope, as has been done here for some 200 years. The inn has stood in one form or another for over 400 years, with a terrace over the water, food and rooms. Symonds Yat Rock and its peregrines are a short climb away.
