A 17th-century thatched inn in the conservation village of Kings Nympton, up in the mid-Devon hills, the Grove Inn has drawn a run of awards for its food and its ciders. Low beams, flagstones and a winter fire inside. Open to all for meals; Kings Nympton station sits about 3km to the south-west.
