Poosie Nansie’s has stood on Mauchline’s Loudoun Street since Burns’s day — he set his cantata The Jolly Beggars among the ragged drinkers of this very inn. It’s still a working pub, in the middle of Mauchline, which also has the Burns House Museum. The nearest station is Auchinleck, about 7km to the south-east.
