Come in February for the snowdrops: Welford Park opens its beech woods and the banks of the River Lambourn to great drifts of them, with aconites and hellebores among the white. The Queen Anne house stays private — the draw is the grounds, which also served as the Great British Bake Off tent from 2014. Open on set winter dates only; Kintbury station sits about 6km to the south.
