Southampton Old Cemetery
Open accessfree to visit at any reasonable time
Opened in 1846, Southampton Old Cemetery was among the first cemeteries run by a council rather than a private company, and its 27 acres still hold Victorian chapels, mature trees and burial ground for well over 100,000 people. It sits right against Southampton Common, and like the common, it’s open every day, free, with no ticket needed. Look out for the shield-decorated gateway on Cemetery Road.
