Haddo House is a clean-lined Palladian mansion designed by William Adam and finished in 1732, seat of the Gordon earls of Aberdeen. Around it lie formal gardens and a country park of parkland, woodland avenues and a lake, all free to walk; the house itself is seen by guided tour. It’s National Trust for Scotland — the country park is open year-round and there’s a charge for the house. A gorgeous spot for a long, easy stroll.
