Brodick Castle and Country Park
Local highlightRed sandstone castle below Goatfell.
Brodick Castle stands in red sandstone above Brodick Bay, backed by the woods and moor that climb towards Goat Fell. The National Trust for Scotland runs it, and the real draw is the garden — one of Scotland’s finest rhododendron collections, glorious in late spring. The grounds are open year-round with the castle seasonal; there’s an admission charge, and you arrive on the CalMac ferry from Ardrossan.
