Ullapool grew as a herring port laid out by Thomas Telford for the British Fisheries Society in the 1780s, and this was one of his “parliamentary” churches, built around 1828 to the standard Telford design. It’s no longer used for worship — the building now houses the town museum, which tells the story of Ullapool and Loch Broom. You’ll find it just back from the seafront.
