A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in East Riding of Yorkshire. It is one of five motte-and-bailey castles the Albion Guide charts in the county. Nafferton Station is 10.8 km away to the west. The nearest other motte-and-bailey castle is Flamborough Castle, 16.7 km to the north-east.
