Straiton

Straiton is a neat conservation village of whitewashed cottages in the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere, and a past winner in the village-in-bloom competitions. It makes a good walkers’ base, with waymarked paths climbing into the hills behind the village. Maybole station is about 10km to the north-west.
