Salcombe stacks pastel houses up the hillside above a blue tidal estuary, near the southern tip of the South Hams. It’s a sailing town first and foremost, busy with boats through the summer; sandy coves like North and South Sands sit just outside the town, reached on foot or by ferry. The Salcombe Gin distillery runs tastings down on the waterfront.
