Kingsbridge sits at the head of the long tidal estuary that runs down to Salcombe and the sea. It’s a working market town rather than a resort — steep Fore Street climbs from the quay, lined with independent shops, with the old covered Shambles arcade partway up. Boat trips run down the estuary in season.
