Right at the southern tip of Harris, Rodel (Roghadal) is gathered around St Clement’s Church — a 16th-century cruciform kirk reckoned the grandest medieval building in the Western Isles, with the carved tomb of the MacLeod chief who built it set inside. It stands at the end of the A859, where the main road meets the Golden Road. The church is open and free to look round.
