A three-mile arc of golden sand on the south-west coast of Harris, looking out to the island of Taransay. Scarista is one of the easiest of the big Harris beaches to stop at — there’s roadside parking right on the A859 — and it draws walkers and the occasional surfer. Gorgeous at any state of the tide.
