Port of Ness (Port Nis) is a crofting village near the northern tip of Lewis, gathered around a small harbour with a sandy beach alongside. It’s the last village of any size before the Butt of Lewis and its lighthouse. The harbour is the launch point for the yearly guga (young gannet) hunt out to Sula Sgeir, a Ness tradition that still carries on. Off the A857.
