The main village of Westray, Pierowall is a fishing settlement curled around a sheltered bay in the north of the island, with the ruined Lady Kirk at its edge. You reach Westray by ferry from Kirkwall, or on the short flight — the hop onward to Papa Westray is famously one of the world’s shortest scheduled flights.
