Llangorse sits beside Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in mid and south Wales and a busy spot for sailing and paddling in summer. Off the north shore lies a crannog, a small artificial island built in the early medieval period; finds from it date to the 8th and 9th centuries. The village has a church, a pub and an activity centre. Ebbw Vale Town is the nearest station, roughly 17km south.
