Old Leigh is the surviving fishing quarter of Leigh-on-Sea, a cobbled strand of cockle sheds, seafood stalls and waterside pubs looking out over the Thames Estuary mudflats. Come for shellfish straight off the boats and a wander at low tide. The Crooked Billet is the old pub on the front. The railway runs right behind the strand.
