Down on the cobbled waterfront at Old Leigh, the Crooked Billet is a low-beamed bar where drinkers spill out opposite the wharf to look across the estuary. It’s the oldest pub in this fishing quarter of Leigh-on-Sea, and gets busy on warm weekends. Leigh-on-Sea station is a few minutes’ walk away.
