Holystone is a quiet Coquet-side hamlet whose great draw is the Lady’s Well, a clear rectangular pool ringed by trees and fed by a spring, with a stone cross and a statue standing in the middle. It’s cared for by the National Trust and free to wander to. A medieval nunnery once stood in the village. Harbottle is close by up the valley. There’s no station within easy reach — this is deep countryside.
