Lady’s Well is a clear, stone-lined pool set among trees just outside Holystone, fed by a spring and long a place of pilgrimage — local tradition, on shaky ground, links it to a mass baptism of Northumbrians in the 7th century. A stone cross and a weathered statue stand in the water. It’s cared for by the National Trust, always open and free, a short walk from the village. A genuinely peaceful corner.
