Bellingham (say ‘Bellinjum’) is a small North Tyne village on the Pennine Way, and the main gateway to Kielder Forest to the west. Its best-loved walk is the easy woodland path up to Hareshaw Linn, a waterfall dropping into a mossy gorge crossed by a string of little footbridges. Kielder village lies further up the valley. The nearest train station is a fair way off at Haydon Bridge.
