Hundreds of red kites drop in for the daily feed at Gigrin, a working sheep farm just outside Rhayader that has been putting meat out for the birds for decades, since kites were among Britain’s rarest raptors. You watch from hides as they wheel and dive for it. Feeding is early afternoon, an hour later through the summer; paid entry, and worth timing your arrival before it starts.
