The Fairy Lochs, a scatter of lochans in the hills above Badachro, hold the wreckage of an American B-24 Liberator that crashed here on 13 June 1945, killing all fifteen aboard as it flew home at the war’s end. Pieces of the aircraft still lie among the rocks, with a memorial plaque to the crew and passengers. A waymarked path leads in off the B8056 — the site is a war grave, so tread and behave accordingly.
