Gartmorn Dam Country Park
Local highlightGartmorn Dam near Alloa was built in 1711 to drive the pumps in the local coal mines, which makes it the earliest constructed reservoir in Scotland. These days it’s a nature reserve, with a trail running right round the water — good for birdwatching and an easy stroll. Free and open all year.
