Morrone rises to 860 m (2,822 ft) in Aberdeenshire. It is one of the 222 Corbetts, and a Marilyn besides. It stands within the Cairngorms National Park and Deeside and Lochnagar National Scenic Area. Creag Bhalg and Creag nan Gabhar are among the hills within 5.1 km.
