A’ Chràileag (you’ll also see it spelt A’ Chralaig) is a Munro — a Scottish hill over 3,000 feet — reaching 1,119m between Glen Shiel and Glen Affric. It’s a big, grassy whaleback rather than a rocky peak, and the usual route goes straight up the steep slope from the A87 near Loch Cluanie, then follows the ridge north to Mullach Fraoch-choire, which is rockier and more interesting near the top. The two together make a good half-day round. There’s no real path once you leave the road, so it’s boots-and-map country, and the broad summit needs care in cloud.
