Aden Country Park spreads over 220 acres of woodland and parkland on the edge of Mintlaw, on the grounds of a former Buchan estate. There’s a restored walled garden, riverside and woodland paths, and a lake to wander round, while the semicircular home farm now houses the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum and its story of local farm life. It’s all free and open. Inverurie station is a fair way off to the south-west, so you’ll most likely come by car.
