Devon’s oldest vineyard, planted in 1976 by the pioneering grower Gillian Pearkes on a steep south-facing slope above the Exe near Bickleigh. It’s a small, family-run place with a tasting terrace looking down the valley, and tours and tastings run in season. Tiverton is just up the road; the nearest station, Newton St Cyres, is about 11km south-west.
