The highest distillery in Scotland, sitting at 326m in the bleak moorland pass at Dalwhinnie. It’s known for a gentle, honeyed malt, and the visitor centre runs tastings and tours if you book ahead. Handy for the railway, too: Dalwhinnie station is only a few hundred metres away, on the main Highland line.
