8 Doors Distillery stands right by the harbour at John o’ Groats, the mainland’s famous north-east corner. It’s a young whisky distillery, so its own single malt is still maturing, but you can take a guided tour and work through tasting flights of Scottish drams in the meantime. Easy to fold into a trip out to Duncansby Head just along the coast. Wick station is about 22km south.
