St Hywyn’s sits right on the shore at Aberdaron, the last church pilgrims reached before the sea crossing to Bardsey. It’s a twin-naved medieval building, first recorded around 1115 and enlarged as the pilgrim traffic grew. The poet R. S. Thomas was vicar here from 1967 to 1978, and there’s a display on him inside. Open to visitors.
