Strathy sits on the A836 along the north coast, a scatter of houses near a sandy bay where the Strathy River meets the sea. North of the village a single-track road runs out to Strathy Point, a low headland with a lighthouse and big open views — a good short walk, and a fair spot for watching seabirds and passing whales. It’s just west of Melvich.
