Carinish sits at the southern end of North Uist, near the causeway across to Benbecula. Its landmark is Teampull na Trionaid, the ruins of a medieval church and religious college that drew scholars in its day. You’ll find it on the A865, the stones standing on a low rise behind the village, free to wander round.
