Abbots Ripton sits a few miles north of Huntingdon, a village on one of England’s larger private estates. A group of 17th-century timber-framed cottages under thatch stands near the church, and Abbots Ripton Hall keeps a well-known garden behind it. Huntingdon station, about 6km south, runs fast trains to London.
